Peter Verheyen, born and raised in Antwerp,
Belgium, is a third-generation antiques dealer. After graduating
from the antique furniture restoration program at West Dean College
in England, Peter worked for a noted English restoration firm, whose
clientele included members of the Royal Family and numerous museums.
In 1990, he and his wife moved to Boston,
where he established his own furniture restoration and conservation
studio. During the past 15 years, Peter and his staff have restored
over 2000 pieces of furniture spanning three centuries and all of
the continents.
Peter's
unique opportunity to work intimately during the past decade with
rare and wonderful antiques from museums and private collectors,
became the inspirational centerpiece for the opening of his own
retail antiques business eight years ago.
Noting the relative absence of
high-quality English furniture for sale in Eastern Massachusetts,
Peter gravitated to his family and professional roots and today
offers 18th and 19th century formal English furniture.
The company imports the vast majority of its
antiques directly from sources in England and the Continent. The
gallery's goal is to provide all of its customers, both private
collectors and the trade, with high quality antique furniture and
decorative arts for the home, office, or summer retreat. Peter is
delighted to share his expertise with new and old collectors alike
and conducts business according to the highest standards of integrity
and honesty. A written guarantee of authenticity accompanies each
and every item sold. In addition to the gallery, Peter Veheyen continues
to offer the finest quality restoration services to collectors,
dealers and museums.
